It's quite an odd hour and I am still playing this game. May as well blog my experience!
It's been such a long time since I really played Smash 3ds, and let me just say, it makes me very grateful to own the Wii U version + a lan adapter, haha. But playing on the 3ds feels like home, but the sort of home you can just barely tolerate. On this website though, the people I talk to and play with from the 3ds area are generally kinder people so I love that aspect. I just hate how much laggier it is compared to what I became used to on wii u wifi. 6 minute games on 3ds can, in actuality, probably last me 8 minutes (assuming the whole 6 minutes are played through.) whereas on wii u, the lag would only tack on a few seconds, I would say; a 6 minute match maybe feeling like 6 min and 15 or 20 seconds at it's worst, in my experiences!
So yeah...the worse wifi, the very real thumb pain, and the amount of misinputs I make in comparison to playing on the wii u, and of course, the tiny screen would be the hold backs...but the friendly people, 3ds exclusive stage selection, and nostalgia factor make me wanna consider playing it again here and there. :) I mean, what really beats portable smash brothers? Exactly.
My playing smash 3ds may have been sparked by my hindered ability to play smash wiii u right now but hey, if you still have a chance to practice, why not take it? I find playing this game to be a great breather and I love how it gets me to think! I will take my smash in any form if I am limited, because that's just how much I love Smash bros.
But I guess I should end this post with something motivational...if all you have is Smash 3ds, don't let someone say it isn't worth your time or effort to try and play this game competitively. There is a slight limitation in what you can do but playing this is an amaaazing way to practice if you want to get involved offline, trust that. I will list the characters I, personally, assume are not worth playing to a competitive extent on 3ds, for they require a bit much that can hurt your hands, may simple not be possible on 3ds, are too limited in what they need to do to be competitively viable with the 3ds controller layout, etc: Pikachu, Sheik, Bayo, MK, Shulk. To be honest, the only one I 100% know isn't worth it is Pikachu. There are lots of other debatable characters, including those I have listed, and others I have not. If you plan to transition onto the Wii U version, though, would not hurt to us any of these limited characters, as it gives you a look at what they can do.
But yeah, back to *me* (kappa) I would write it in this post, but this post has achieved quite a length already. After this post, I may very likely make a blogging series of my ranking chronicles...talking about facets of mindset, encouragement and discouragement, and just so I can see my personal growth I suppose. I want to say, if I can reach my goals, anyone really can, you just have to put in the work and keep yourself accountable. Follow me if you want to see living proof. Here we go. Time to finally, after being on this website for quite some time (almost 2 years!!), climb the ladder...for both Wii U and 3DS.
