Before I joined Smashladder in the beginning of 2016 (this year) I did exist in what I'd like to call "era" i'll be talking about it here.
"Pre Internet Era/other things" 2002-2006
Before I got my DSi or iPod or anything that connects to the internet in a meaningful way,not much happened,I played games and even knew that computers existed, but I was extremely young and well, not that smart,I didn't use much of the internet. Here's one thing, first of all,I watched TV,not really a big surprise as i probably watched it since pretty early on,but I did watch tons of Teletoon,I watched tons of it with too much to remember,so I'm going to leave it at that.I also played on Video game systems since I was young,I first played on the N64 with Mario Golf and Mario Kart 64,I loved those games. Then there's the Wii,I went on it quite a bit and even used Nintendo Channel, which had those nifty Demos and what people would call a Nintendo Direct of the Wii era.Alright, let's go a little back to the Gamecube,I loved it and even wanted to play Simpsons Hit and Run,but my Brother didn't allow me,I deleted saves and broke some discs back then, but still played a lot of some games, like Mario Sunshine.I also had a DS,I played Mario 64 DS on it.
"DSi Era" 2006-2011
On one of my birthdays (maybe 8th or 9th birthday) I got a DSi bundled with some Mario games on it,but that wasn't the part I remembered much about,it was the DSi shop and of course, flipnote.
First off,the DSi shop was pretty special to me,as I still remember the music (I sure still love it!) and bought many games on it,a few I liked was Bomberman Blitz and Uno,I played them a lot especially online,I also remember some sort of usb adapter for I think many systems (at the time,Wii and DS[i]) I don't remember much about it though,so let's move on.To continue I have flipnote,I used flipnote so damn much when I was pretty much very young, and I discovered many things that I would expect from the internet (Memes, and more memes) I didn't make any animations with flipnote though.
"Old iPod era" 2008-2011
I got an iPod from...really I don't know, maybe I got it from one of my siblings? Anyways,I got it and got up on Youtube quite a bit, which had me discover something:BFDI (or for long:Battle for Dream Island) was a favorite of mine when I was on my old iPod,I always watched them, loving each episode,I also played some games, though I don't remember many of them,I think there was a game about lining up parts of burgers of something,I never really remembered much games,so i'll end it here.
"Old Laptop Era" 2009-2011
I used a pretty damn old Laptop running Vista, which was enough for me back then,I played some Flash games and even did some Youtube Videos, which were deleted by the way. I also didn't play tons of ROBLOX on it,that's for the New Laptop Era. My Old Toshiba Laptop was pretty much broken,It had the Arrows and some Letter missing, and didn't even have a battery, which made me stuck to the wall (I didn't mind) but could still run some very basic Internet tasks, which was fine for me for a lot of time,it also had a built in camera, which allowed me to make videos back then (it had no sound too).
"Android Galaxy Tablet Era" 2008-2011
I don't know when or how,but I got a Samsung tablet in a Christmas I believe, I used it for many years before I got my New iPod which I still use now.Anyway, back to topic,I used it for many years and watched tons of Brawl Machinima plus Hacks, even though I watched tons of them I never actually hacked my Wii because for me,it seemed like a scary place, and I didn't want to get into any piracy stuff,I didn't even hack any System until my 3ds! For the games,I never really remembered any. I also had a huge issue with the Text turning garbled and courrupted, and Roblox completely vomiting bytes all over the place.
What? did I hear ROBLOX? Yes,and now i'm going into the New Laptop era!
"New Laptop Era" 2011-2015
This is where I got it in about 2011 or so until the summer of 2015. First of all,I mostly played ROBLOX on it and did most of my stuff,I started to play ROBLOX in Nov 2012 after I seen someone play it somewhere that day. After I started playing,I got hooked and continued playing until 2015,which is the same time I got an actual desktop at the start of summer. Rough specs are: AMD A6 Quad Core Processor,it's APU,4gb of RAM. Nowadays it's just trash and couldn't be used for much else,it even had performance issues with ROBLOX and couldn't run Youtube videos @ 60fps at all! The Wifi card was also very much wack,it crashed quite a bit and caused some trouble. When it happened,I needed to restart. Thank god I have something better now! Anyways, about ROBLOX,it was where I played 24/7 since Nov 2012,even with some issues along the way. During this era I also lost interest in TV,mostly Teletoon for the most part since that was all I did,now it was just traded for ROBLOX. However,ROBLOX didn't last as long as me watching TV for sure, since TV for me lasted from 2007-2013. By the way,I rarely brought that Laptop around,it was mostly just on my desk most of the time.It ended in June of 2015,when I got an actual desktop.
What's next?
"Move on Era" 2015
Not much happened really,it was a small period of time where I started to try to get into other games,Splatoon was the one game I thought I would play for a while, but it wasn't. I was stuck, what would I move on to?
"TF2 Desktop Era" 2015-2016 In June 2015,I finally got an actual Desktop. At first,I wanted to play ROBLOX and not much else, however it would change as soon after I didn't enjoy ROBLOX anymore and wanted to move on. ROBLOX would officially end for me as I soon found out about Steam,I first got Cook,Serve,Delicious which was fun for a bit and ran nice, but I soon went to another game,I soon picked TF2 and got hooked, but for shorter,I went on some servers,I don't think much liked me at all really,I didn't care though. I was also into trading and even was on scrap.tf for a bit and did some raffles and went on every raffle every single day, kinda like Giiva/Siiva. Anyways, authentication went and completely ruined trading,it was nearly impossible to find anybody with actual authentication,I stayed on scrap.tf though and stayed there until one morning,as I didn't say I was actually kicked out once and it was still fresh in my mind,as time went on the site felt less and less friendly as time went on. On a Saturday morning,I said a swear and got extremely scared,I couldn't handle it at all and soon left. This is where it ends...
"Smashladder & More Desktop Era" 2016-Present
After the thing happened that morning,I soon found Smashladder, which I went in and tried to setup. I went with Melee at first and went in a match without anything downloaded at all,I stayed silent and left. After tons and tons of matches of trial and error I finally got it working. At this point I had already upgraded my GPU to a 750ti,RAM to 16gb,so it ran pretty much fine without problems. Soon after that was Project M,which was basically the same as Melee, some trial and error, now done.I played matches and mostly was chating on the PM chat room. I also found out about Giivasunner which led me to mostly having something to listen to after school...so much to catch up on... anyways I was watching them all day and I went to Siivagunner after that when the original channel shut down, and now I go to TimmyTurnersGrandDad to listen to HQ Rips. Overwatch was coming out on May and I wasn't interested at first, but I soon decided to try the game for 40$,I really really liked it and still play it today,it's a great time and I play it quite a bit nowadays,I think it'll be like that for a longg time...
"The Prebuilt" June 2015-September 2015
I was at a Computer Shop where they had some stuff. I actually planned to build a Desktop but I went to a PC shop to get a Prebuilt for some reason. Specifications: GPU: Quadro FX 1700 512 MB VRAM. CPU:Intel Core i7 860 2.8Ghz Quad Core w/ Hyperthreading. RAM: 2x2 DDR3 RAM. OS: Windows 7. HDD:500GB 5400RPM. It was slow, but could run ROBLOX and 60fps Videos much better then the Laptop did. When I tried to run TF2 however...It couldn't stay @ 60fps @ 1366 x 768 Lowest Settings. Soon to be continuted someday...
