Here's something for you: a blog post that almost seems like I'm retiring.
- Gonna be dead around April-May. I have been feeling very stressed lately, something that has been going on since around October of 2015. Because of that, my future is on the ropes (granted, I'm not that screwed, but I happen to wander far off the trail). So don't expect me to show up to anything. (I have been dropping tourneys this month and March for this reason). There are a few things that will kinda pull me back.
- New Season of Anther's: The chances of this starting up around my hiatus is pretty likely. I might come on to get my regular bronze rank, and then disappear back into obscurity.
- SSF2 Beta: Ever since Luigi's confirmed in August, I have been motivated to play this game a lot harder than I used to. If Beta comes out in the time period I happen to be gone, then I'll check back on there just to play it. Besides, there's somebody I have to face once it comes out. Don't think I have forgotten.
- RPS: If I feel bored, I might just go on to check up on this. This actually looks lit.
So yeah, I'm pretty sure none of you actually give two shits, but I figured there's probably a couple that are curious about it.
Also one more thing about tournaments.
Don't wanna make more johns, but I might be less open to go to tournaments. Now some of you might just say that's because I'm a coward to go to these things after getting eliminated after a couple of rounds into every single tournament I have entered up until this date (Do be aware of three examples, but two are because they didn't have any other top players, and the third was because Axe was carrying). What I want to say is yes, I can't fully confirm it is, but I can't deny it hasn't been affecting me, but that's a mentality issue, caused by the crap in school + my personality.
The other thing is because I am a potato. I have observed that while I play online, I get a HUGE lag spike. I can confirm it's on my end, as it has happened with several people. There's no way that many people have crap internet. Besides, sometimes it happens with people that the community knows has good internet. It has also happened when I go into the lab or face level 9's to kill time.
I have also observed that the only way to mitigate this without a d/c is if I move the mouse. The game can only move if the mouse is moving at the same time as well, so in order for me to actually play the match, I need one hand to move the mouse constantly. Even then, the frames after is still pretty shit. That's why I'm probably going to be more careful when playing online. All I'm saying is you guys be aware: you don't have to believe me, but this is the argument that I present.
All in all, my final words is that as a player who's been walking the skill floor for several months, I want to get better, but the drive is definitely not there. Bad habits such as habits from facing lvl 9's, not attempting to adapt and just choosing other chars out of fun might also to be blame. But what sucks is that winning is most likely out of the window since the chances of me unintentionally hitting a lag switch will cause me to throw the game for the sake of the tournament.
SHOUT OUTS (Cue gangsta Pika music)
- Mississauga Players: Represent our city well boys and girls! Special thanks go to AxeEnding999 for being a cool guy and helping me through my playing, even though the improvement is not really showing. #ZeroTimeDilemma
- The people that go out of their way to hold some conversation with me. Including Axe, there's also MarioSkiruffles. Thanks for being a cool guy and giving me Mario tips.
- Everyone that plays some friendly matches. Special acknowldgements to Unkown7 the endless friendlies guy, and Israel, who never ceases to slap my sorry ass in ranked matches.
- Top players, my respect
- Everyone I have faced in tournament, good games all around and hope to see more of you around later on.
- The SSF2 community as a whole. Pretty cool players, and a dedicated team of people making an awesome game, free of charge. Go read the dev blogs, they never cease to make me smile and get hyped for Beta's release this year.
- While I don't see it as necessary, the rest of the smash community as a whole. Even if I don't bother to play as much anymore, I still watch streams for good Smash4/Melee/64 content. (Brawl and PM are so ducking hard to find on stream). Stay cool, you guys are the xdbest.
