I switched over entirely to EOE's gc setup ( L jump, Y shield, Cstick tilts) a couple weeks ago (had been training myself on it for 3 or so months on a separate tag just while labbing so I didn't mess up in matches and make myself not want to switch. I had a habit of using both Y and X for jump, mainly using Y for jumps and using X for jumps I intended to float, so it took a while to break that. I still accidently air dodge when going for a quick uair followup every like 1/100 matches, but it's mostly gone). I still flub the super quick L ground float nairs a good bit, but have gotten pretty consistent with uairs from ground floats.
I QFR, but don't really do any aerials out of it yet, so for now it's pretty much just intimidation and mixup movement for grounded attacks. I can JCFF but not super consistent, and when I do it in match I don't usually do aerials with it, it's just a mixup. SH airdodges are used for punishing a move on the other side, but I don't really know what else to use them for. I'll be honest: I kinda just spam them for now (in matches I don't care about) to see where else I can use them. For unteched dtilts, I mainly just punish with jc up smash early on or fair at later percents, but should work on better punishes. For teched dtilts I basically always use ftilt.I have pretty good turnip control (but could definitely improve), but can at most times not be seen with one in my hands while doing aerials. It's hard to keep that as an option in my head, and makes me much more predictable with a turnip out, even though I do all sorts of mixups with them. I need to get better at stitch usage and also have almost no idea what to do with a bomb at low percents.
I somewhat have the "best player in my playgroup" mentality and am sometimes non-analytical about what I'm doing and when, and lose to much lesser players on FG because I expect to win effortlessly.
My neutral is alright, but could use plenty of improvement (mainly just by simply playing better players who actually have a neutral). I mainly have a problem with getting early kills. I have this bad idea of a fair game in my head where the better player incrementally tacks on percent with combos and safe strings and then kills at normal percents like 100% and up. I don't usually read people and try to extend a combo or sneak in a kill except for obvious things like bad airdodges. I often find myself taking the lead very early and then the opponent catching up but most of the time not quite getting there, rather than ever truly dominating.
I need ladder for people to destroy me for me to get better. I also am plenty interested in any sparring partners.
