In this blog post, I will be covering some different mechanics I have seen and found.
In Melee, there is something with Roy's hitboxes during his up smash. If you hit it twice in a row, first with the sourspot, then the sweetspot, if timed just right on the sweetspot, it WILL spike and not meteor down. It sends at about a 25 degree angle downwards and there is no way to get out of the hit.
Another mechanic I've heard about, but never seen was from someone in the MI PM group on Facebook. They said that there was a random glitch in doubles and as soon as he pulled an item with Peach, he instantly gained 999% damage and flew off stage faster than you can say holy fuck! I have not found a way to mimic this at all. I want to try to find this. He said this happened in the Non-CC 3.61 Build of PM. This happened in Standard 3.6. If anybody could find a way to replicate this, please let me know. I'd be super interested in covering it and seeing it first hand.
