Many players are constantly arguing about Smash 4's "Tier List". A lot of peoole say that x character is completely unviable or x character deserves to be higher on the "tier list" because they aren't as bad as people say. Well when it comes to smash 4 in my opinion, there is absolutely NO WAY to categorize an ordered tier list. No its not because the game is "too young", in fact the metagame has developed suprisingly fast (compared to other smash games) so unless we discover a completely game changing advanced technique, the game's meta isn't going to change too drastically as time goes on. Now back to my claim, the reason I say the game can't have an ordered tier list in my opinion is because in smash 4, pretty much every character is viable to some extent. Of course some characters are better than others, but there are only a few characters who stick out as a super good compared to the rest of the cast. Its a little hard for me to explain, but what I'm trying to say is, that if there was a tier list it would look something like this:

A definitive top 10-15, and then a level right under the top tiers that would consist of the rest of the cast in no particular order. And maybe a definitive bottom 3-5 (and no, samus would not be in this category) the reason I say this is because a lot of the "mid tier" characters compare evenly with eachother for the most part. At the end of the day I truly believe that any character in smash 4 can be played at a high level and achieve results, its just much more difficult for some characters more than others due to bad matchups, but no matchup is impossible. Not even Ness vs Rosa.
